Genny Henderson
Genny is an exceptional interior designer who considers herself fortunate to do what she loves: being creative. Her lifelong passion for her craft is evident in each of her many projects. She believes that interior design is not just about choosing fabrics and arranging furniture but about creative planning of the space, imaginative lighting, and conjuring delightful, functional homes that her clients have always dreamt about.
Unlike many of her peers, Genny can custom-design furniture, fixtures and fittings as well as plan space. Her unique expertise and fluency with form and fabric come from a life devoted to design: She initially trained as a fashion designer, and Genny’s couture collections sold on both sides of the Atlantic in such prestigious department stores as Harrods, Saks and Neiman Marcus.
Since founding The Room Company in 1995, Genny has been highly sought-after by private clients and residential-investment property owners who appreciate her entrepreneurial spirit and ability to challenge the mundane.
Over the past 25 years has created interiors in the most prestigious areas of London, including Mayfair, Marylebone and Westminster, from pied à terres to apartments and magisterial townhouses.
Dynamic and motivated, her ‘can-do’ attitude and care for her clients are fundamental to her success.

The Room Company specialises in translating ideas and visions into the homes and living spaces that clients dream about. Genny’s passion for design, fabrics, colour and lighting were the foundation on which she started The Room Company in 1995. Full Design Service
The Room Company provides clients with a full design service. This guarantees that each design accurately reflects the ideas of the clients andis consistently and uniquely tailored to suit their needs, wants and dreams.
Pre Project: Initial Meeting
Initial discussion and conversations to understand ideas, dreams, requirements, walk through the space/site, and talk through initial timescales and budgets.
Should the client decide to move forward with The Room Company, the pre project meeting forms the basis of the Design Brief,a document that details all the work that is required as well fees and timelines.
Design Development Phase: Once engaged on the project, The Room Company will produce PowerPoint presentations/sample boards plans of existing layout and proposed layout, including the recommended finishes, supplies and installation costs.
Specification Phase:The approval of the final design signifies the end of the design development phase. During the next stage The Room Company will send the specifications out to builders for quotations and bids and will manage the responses. Together with the client, The Room Company will select the best candidate for the project.
Project co ordination and Supervision: The Room Company will direct and manage the building works, builders, sub contractors and all suppliers involved with the project.
Project Completion:The project is concluded when the building works detailed on the specification documents and design brief has been completed and lightening, furniture and fixtures have been installed as per design brief.
Follow Up: The Room Company will meet with the client approximately 3 months after completion to make ensure that the client is completely satisfied.
